Doctor Ronald McNair Park is a small park locatedat the corner of Washington Ave and Eastern Parkway. It is tiny and nothing spectacular but we like it espesially when the sun is shining.

Elephant & Castle
The following is my pic from yesterday which I didn't get to post. I had brunch at http://www.elephantandcastle.com/ with a new friend Karen. It was delicious!
Just a picture I snapped today that reflects my thoughts of the day.

Paid to Love
(7/93) Covenant House
The above is a picture of a banner that the male residents painted. It is hanging up on the wall at work. Been thinking a lot tonight about the years I have been in social work and all the faces I remember. I have grown to care about so many some who have died in the streets, some who have escaped the destructive cycle and moved on to a better life. My heart feels so full with memories of each one that sometimes I wonder how I will continue to fit any more in and yet there is always room for another. I feel so privileged to be given this opportunity daily to love and be paid for it.

The Garment Worker
(2/93) Manhattan's Garment District
“The Garment Worker” (1984) by Judith Weller, is located on Seventh Ave between 39th and 40th Streets in midtown Manhattan. The piece is a tribute to the history of the area as Manhattan's Garment District or Fashion District. I love seeing this on my walk from the Subway stop to my work. Something about this sculpture feels alive.

First Day of Spring / Barcade
Here we are again at the change of another season. I enjoy Spring and seeing the growth that is taking place all around. I thought it would be fun to take a picture of the city every day for Spring. 93 days...I think I can handle that!
(1/93) Lincoln Place, Brooklyn
Went to a birthday party today at a place called Barcade. It was a great place with the name being self-explanatory...it is bar and an arcade. :) Fun stuff! And it made me miss my sisters because I am pretty sure they could have beat every one there at Pacman! Here is the site check it out...

Recent Reads
I love starting a new book! Today on the train I will begin Nervous Conditions by Tsitsi Dangarembga. A co-worker of mine had read it for school and highly recommended it.
The following below are the most recent books I have enjoyed most of all were recommended to me by my sister Laura. You should check them out!

Hiatus
Call me crazy but every once in awhile a word comes along that I just fall in love with. You know those words that are not only fun to say but the whole meaning, the definition they carry, you desire. My latest love affair has been with “hiatus”. Don’t you just love him too?? Listen to the way he is described…an interruption in time or continuity….a period when something is suspended….a break. Doesn't that just sound dreamy?
All jokes aside I have been trying to give myself a break lately just from having to think so much. Much of life is about balance and I have come to realize I pour everything out to others and work so hard at trying to keep other people happy that I often care little for myself. Believe me when I say that is not the way to live life!
So I am back but this time you will find I’m walking along the road to a healthier me.

P.S. Bradley is still Bradley up to the same old stuff. I am working on getting him this shirt I saw which says, "Been there chewed that!"
