Hiatus

Call me crazy but every once in awhile a word comes along that I just fall in love with. You know those words that are not only fun to say but the whole meaning, the definition they carry, you desire. My latest love affair has been with “hiatus”. Don’t you just love him too?? Listen to the way he is described…an interruption in time or continuity….a period when something is suspended….a break. Doesn't that just sound dreamy?

All jokes aside I have been trying to give myself a break lately just from having to think so much. Much of life is about balance and I have come to realize I pour everything out to others and work so hard at trying to keep other people happy that I often care little for myself. Believe me when I say that is not the way to live life!

So I am back but this time you will find I’m walking along the road to a healthier me.

P.S. Bradley is still Bradley up to the same old stuff. I am working on getting him this shirt I saw which says, "Been there chewed that!"

Twenty Eleven

Not sure where the last month has gone but it has been a full one of work, dinner parties, work, holiday cheer, work, and lots of snow! Did I mention work?

And I must share that Bradley received a wonderful stuffed squirrel from his Aunt Laura. He has been obsessed with it and has brought me so many laughs. He carries it around the apartment in his teeth so proud of his big kill…




We have been enjoying the new year. We started out with experiencing the Chocolate Room



It is a a dessert restaurant that I have been wanting to try for the last year and just have never gotten around to it. I met a few friends there the other night and enjoyed an amazing cup of dark hot chocolate with a homemade marshmallow. AMAZING!!!

Botanical Garden's Winter Months

I love the Botanical Gardens even in the winter months. The great thing about that is November 9th through March 13th admission is free on weekdays. I most certainly will be taking advantage of that. I took a nice walk through there this afternoon. There is something beautiful about even in the winter with so many barren trees.

NYC's Curry Row

Tonight I enjoyed some wonderful Indian cuisine! I have been told about this section of the East Village before which is lined with many different Indian restaurants yet this is my first time visiting. I have been home now for a couple hours yet I just can’t stop thinking about my experience at Milon Bangladesh Indian Restaurant. The food was delicious, fun atmosphere, and the staff friendly! I can’t wait to return there!!! If you are next to visit me...be prepared because like or not you will be visiting Curry Row. We will walk along the street and look in all the restaurant windows and laugh as they try to convince us to eat there but ultimately we will pick Milon!

11-2010

It has been a busy but wonderful month. My parents came to visit!!! Yes that was the highlight for me. We had such a wonderful time together. I loved showing them around the city and Bradley certainly loved the attention he received as well! We were both really sad when it was time for them to go.




I started ordering my groceries online from Fresh Direct. I know sounds strange but so far I have been making healthier choices so I am loving it!




This month I have discovered such a practical easy way to show the kids at work I care and that is…..baking cookies!!! They love them and I like to think they make them feel loved! As I offer them out I always make sure to announce that they are baked with love!




I like to think in Bradley’s eyes I am a fun owner but there are those days when I am sure he thinks otherwise. Found this elf costume on sale at Target for $2.50!! Who can resist that deal??



I wish I could get a good picture of my neighbors building. They go crazy with decorations every year and it makes me smile!

Walk to Brooklyn

Sometimes I get these crazy ideas. They usually are a result of a thought process that goes a little something like this…..

I need to exercise more.
I like walking.
I should walk more.
I wonder how far it is from work to my apartment.
I’m going to look that up.
It’s only 7.33 miles!
I think I can walk that far.
I’m going to walk home from work today!!

So this past Saturday I decided to walk home from work. I think it should have taken me about 2 ½ hours but it took closer to 3 because I took pictures and took my time.

Bradley's bath time

Tonight I was trying to organize all my pictures and videos when I came across this one. I think I took it this past summer. It is so funny to me how Bradley gets excited about his bath but when it comes to actually getting in he runs!!!
